Vehicle crime alert

Over the past 72 hours, Staffordshire Police have seen a spike in residential burglaries resulting in car thefts across the area of Fenton and Heron Cross.  

Enquiries for these offences are ongoing but we are asking all members of the public to remain vigilant and take all the necessary precautions to keep your homes and property safe. 

Keep all windows and doors locked as much as possible, especially when your homes are unoccupied or all occupants are asleep. 

Utilise extra security measures when possible such as motion lighting, CCTV, house alarms and security chains. 

We also strongly advise extra measures for personal vehicles such as steering locks, immobilisers, alarms. Keep your keys away from all windows and doors and  keep them out of sight along with any valuables. 

If your vehicles use keyless entry, we highly recommend faraday boxes/pouches to store your keys in to cancel out the keys signal and proved and extra layer of security for your vehicles.
